Problems with permissions
Problems writing or changing files in the application folder
Solutions -
- Try running the Iowa Support Master as an "administrator" to see if it works that way. To do this, right click on the icon you normally use to start the program and then left click "Run As Administrator". You may be required to give a password. If the program runs correctly then you can continue to use the program this way or go on to the next step.
- Use an administrative login to change the permissions of the Iowa Support Master application folder. This can be done for just your login or for all logins. If you do not know how to do this, you need to use the first solution above.
Why is this happening?
At installation the Iowa Support Master required an administrative login. Those who use the program after that either have permission to use it or have an administrative login.
When you log into your computer, you received permission to do some tasks but not other tasks. A program usually has the same permissions as the person who uses the program. Permissions are used to increase security on your computer or network.
Whoever uses the Iowa Support Master needs to be able to create, change and delete files within the Iowa Support Master folder. You are viewing this web page because you do not have enough computer permission to perform these basic tasks.
If you are having permission problems, it is because of your login. Currently, your login does not give the Iowa Support Master permission to create, change and delete temporary files and other data files necessary for the program to function. These activities are routine, performed in the background, and only within the Iowa Support Master folder.
Many computer and network environments are restrictive by default. Permissions need to be increased manually after installation.
If you are using Vista, you may find this operating system more restrictive than previous versions of Windows.
