The Confusion Solution
NCP (or CP) has the family covered by a family plan. It costs NCP $12,000 per year. You need to know what single plan coverage would cost NCP.Now that you know what the single plan costs, let's say $6,000 per year, subtract it from the family play cost of $12,000 per year. Result is $6,000.
NCP would indicate $6,000 as the cost to cover the children.

Under the new guidelines rule effective January 1, 2022, the party providing the health coverage is allowed to deduct half what it costs to cover the prior-marriage children. See Guidelines Rule 9.14(5)(b).
health insurance costs for prior children may be deducted so long as the providing parent is under court or administrative order to provide coverage on the priors, or the priors are QADs under 9.7. Rule 9.14(5)(b).
